How to Add Tickets to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet

By the TheTicketers editorial team · Updated November 2026

Mobile tickets may be available as a wallet pass, inside a ticketing app, or as an electronic ticket. The issuer decides which format is available for each ticket.

Before you start

Open your order or confirmation email and check which account received the tickets. Sign in to the email account and ticketing app used for the order or transfer. If someone sent you the tickets, accept the transfer first using the account it was addressed to.

Add tickets to Apple Wallet on iPhone

  1. Open the order or ticket confirmation email, the ticketing app, or the ticket page on your iPhone.
  2. Find and tap Add to Apple Wallet. The button may appear after you open the individual ticket.
  3. Review the pass, tap Add, then open the Wallet app to confirm it is there.

If the button is not offered, use the ticket in the official app or the delivery format provided with your order.

Add tickets to Google Wallet on Android

  1. Open the order email, ticketing app, or ticket page on your Android phone.
  2. Open the ticket and tap Save to Google Wallet or the wallet option shown by the issuer.
  3. Follow the prompts to save the pass, then open Google Wallet and check that it appears.

If there is no save option, keep the ticket in the official app or its delivered file and follow the venue's entry instructions.

No wallet button?

A venue may use an app-only ticket with a rotating barcode that stays inside the app. Your tickets may also not have been delivered yet, or they may be a transfer you still need to accept. Check the delivery details and timing in your order, and see our guides on when tickets arrive and accepting a ticket transfer.

Why screenshots often do not scan

A screenshot captures a barcode at one moment. Rotating or animated barcodes change over time, so a saved image may no longer be valid at the gate. Use the live ticket in its app or wallet. Never buy a screenshot offered as a ticket; read more about how to spot fake tickets.

At the venue

Turn up your screen brightness, and open the pass or ticket before you reach the gate. A wallet pass already saved on your phone generally works offline, though a live app-only barcode may need the app and its current ticket display. If your phone dies, ask venue staff for help and follow their instructions; they can explain what proof or account access may be available, but entry is not guaranteed without a usable ticket.

Frequently asked questions

Can I add tickets to Wallet for someone else?

You can share or transfer a ticket only if the ticketing app or issuer provides that option. Follow its instructions so the other person receives a valid ticket in their own account or wallet.

Do Wallet tickets work offline?

A pass already added to your phone's wallet can generally be opened without an internet connection. Open it before you reach the gate, and follow any instructions to use a live barcode in the ticketing app instead.

Why did my ticket disappear from Wallet?

A pass may be removed after an event, a ticket change, or an account or device update. Check the original ticketing app or order email, sign in to the account that received the ticket, and add the pass again if the option is available.

Can I add PDF tickets to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet?

Not every PDF ticket can be added as a wallet pass. Use an add-to-wallet button from the issuer or ticket page if one is offered; otherwise keep the PDF available and follow the venue's entry instructions.
