The Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex is a powerhouse for live events, anchored by some of the most impressive sports and entertainment venues in the country. AT&T Stadium in Arlington is home to the Cowboys and a regular host of mega-events including Super Bowls, College Football Playoff games, WrestleMania, and massive concert tours in its 80,000-seat retractable-roof facility. The American Airlines Center in downtown Dallas is home to the Mavericks and Stars and hosts over 200 events annually. Globe Life Field in Arlington, another retractable-roof venue, is home to the Rangers and features a modern design that keeps fans comfortable during the brutal Texas summer. The Winspear Opera House in the Arts District is a stunning venue presenting the Dallas Opera, Broadway touring shows, and special performances. The AT&T Performing Arts Center campus also includes the Wyly Theatre and Strauss Square for outdoor performances. The historic Majestic Theatre downtown hosts concerts and comedy. Deep Ellum is the live music and nightlife heart of Dallas, with venues like Trees, The Bomb Factory (now called The Factory in Deep Ellum), and Club Dada showcasing local and touring acts nightly. The State Fair of Texas at Fair Park each fall is a beloved tradition running for three weeks with concerts, food, and the iconic Red River Showdown college football game between Texas and Oklahoma at the Cotton Bowl.
AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Field are in Arlington between Dallas and Fort Worth so plan transportation
DART light rail serves American Airlines Center and many downtown venues directly
Deep Ellum venues often have low cover charges on weeknights for great live music
The State Fair of Texas runs for three weeks in September and October with discounted admission days
AT&T Stadium is in Arlington, about 20 miles west of downtown Dallas. There is no rail service to Arlington, so most visitors drive, use rideshare, or take organized shuttles. Parking lots surround the stadium. The TRE commuter rail runs between Dallas and Fort Worth but does not stop in Arlington near the stadium.
The Dallas Arts District is a 68-acre cultural hub in downtown Dallas, one of the largest in the country. It includes the Winspear Opera House, Wyly Theatre, Meyerson Symphony Center for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Museum of Art, and the Nasher Sculpture Center. It is walkable and served by DART rail.
Fair Park is home to the State Fair of Texas each fall, the Cotton Bowl stadium, and several museums. The State Fair features concerts at the Dos Equis Pavilion, the Red River Showdown college football game, livestock shows, and hundreds of food vendors. The Dos Equis Pavilion also hosts major concerts year-round outside fair season.
